About the Phantom Disposal
A Smarter Way to Run Waste Fleet Operations
Canadian Software Agency built Phantom Disposal’s end-to-end fleet and dispatch platform, digitizing real-time driver dispatch, GPS tracking, attendance management, reporting, and two-way communication across a web portal and a cross-platform mobile app.

The Challenge
Before the platform, Phantom Disposal’s operations were manual and fragmented, creating visibility and coordination gaps as the company grew:
- No real-time map view for dispatchers to locate drivers and assign jobs efficiently
- Job tracking handled informally with no digital lifecycle (assign/reassign/cancel/monitor)
- Drivers lacked a structured mobile workflow for job queue, status updates, and navigation
- Background GPS tracking was unreliable on mobile, causing location gaps during active work
- Dispatcher–driver communication relied on phone calls with no audit trail
- Driver attendance and hours were logged manually, complicating payroll and reporting
- No centralized reporting for productivity, completions, or utilization
- The system had to support three distinct roles with different permissions and workflows
The Solution
Canadian Software Agency designed and built Phantom Disposal as a unified dispatch and fleet management ecosystem:
- React.js web portals for Admin and Dispatch operations
- React Native mobile app for drivers (iOS + Android from one codebase)
- Node.js + MongoDB backend with a documented REST API
- Socket.IO real-time synchronization for job events, location updates, and chat
- A tailored experience for three role types:
- Admin: full control over users, jobs, trucks, bins, customers, attendance, and reports
- Dispatcher: create/assign/reassign/cancel jobs, live map monitoring, messaging
- Driver: FIFO job queue, navigation, job-type/status updates, clock in/out, chat + notifications
A key technical focus was persistent background GPS, implemented via a custom location service to keep location streaming active even when the app is backgrounded.
Core Platform Features
Canadian Software Agency built Phantom Disposal’s end-to-end fleet and dispatch platform, digitizing real-time driver dispatch, GPS tracking, attendance management, reporting, and two-way communication across a web portal and a cross-platform mobile app.
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Three roles: Admin, Dispatcher, Driver, each with dedicated dashboards, permissions, and workflows. Mobile login auto-routes users to the correct experience based on role.
Real-Time Job Dispatch & Lifecycle Management
Create, assign, reassign, cancel, and monitor jobs from the web portal, with instant delivery to drivers via push notifications and real-time updates.
Live GPS Driver Tracking (with Background Reliability)
Dispatchers view all active drivers on a live map. A custom background tracking service ensures continuous GPS transmission during active jobs.
Driver Mobile App (Operations-First UX)
Drivers receive a FIFO-ordered job queue, open job details, launch Google Maps navigation, select job types (Pickup, Drop-off, Exchange, Live-Load), and update statuses in real time.
Punch In / Punch Out & Attendance
Drivers clock in/out in-app. Hours are automatically stored daily and accessible to Admin, Dispatcher, and Drivers for transparency and payroll readiness.
Customer & Job Management
Centralized customer records and searchable job history, including bin numbers, contact details, and active/previous jobs.
Truck & Bin Inventory Management
Full CRUD tools for managing trucks (plate, category, images) and bins (size, location, install date), enabling asset visibility across operations.
In-App Messaging & Group Chat
Direct messaging plus dispatcher-created group chats. Groups can also be auto-generated by truck categories, automatically including relevant drivers.
Reports & Analytics
Filterable reporting for working hours and job completions (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly) with admin-level visibility into fleet productivity.
Push Notifications (FCM)
Firebase-powered notifications for job assignments, job updates, messages, and operational status changes.
The Modern Stack Behind the Software.
A robust, production-ready technology foundation was carefully selected to enable advanced AI processing capabilities, ensure secure and compliant document handling, support flexible multi-role access control, and facilitate seamless, scalable cloud deployment. This foundation is designed to deliver high performance, reliability, and adaptability, allowing the system to efficiently handle growing workloads while maintaining strong security and user management across different roles and environments.
